There is a Giant Myth in the Internet world. It states that having a web site is costly and time-consuming process. Although it does take time, it doesn't have to cost thousands of dollars to get a domain name, design and build a site, and host your web presence. We can only assume that the myth exists for the benefit of other design companies, bent on getting your dollars.
It doesn't have to be that way.
The problems of cost and time overun are usually caused by:
- Semantics (A specialized vocabulary unique to the task, sometimes overused to impress the Client.) Arm yourself with information. You can look up the terms you don't understand: W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) Glossary.
- Lack of planning on the part of both the Designer and the Client. A good design team will insist that you follow certain guidelines and work with them to perfect your website.
- Lack of understanding/knowledge of the Website Development Process. We offer you a simple explanation here on the site, but will be happy to speak with you in detail about our own process.
